ASUS N61VN-A2 16-Inch Laptop Review from Eolian. Happy, but needed work, For the money Asus provides good hardware. Speed is all relative to what was previously owned. Anyone purchasing computers every 3 years will all see a remarkable improvement as I have. If I had owned more than one newly manufactured computer I could make relative judgments about each. About my new Asus N61VG hardware, all I can say is that I am happy.
The software is quite different. I have found with all system software packages, much is unneeded. Check out what you like and make a list.
I found that the Trend Security software cannot be removed. If your preference is a different security package you’ll have to do what I did.
Take your list of usable software and start over using the supplied DVD software.
Start with the Windows. Next add your security before anything else. My security found a virus on the Asus supplied driver and utility disk. Don’t check the boxes for anything you do not want. Not sure what it was but not loading that program seemed not to make a difference in computer performance or operation.
Even with the extra work (which I feel is necessary with any new computer) I’m still happy with my purchase.
